Planner / Fleet Manager

Specialized Transportation Services, Inc. (STS) is an asset-based transportation and logistics company based in Smyrna, TN. We are currently seeking a qualified load planner / driver manager. As a key member of the Ops team, you will be involved in all aspects of managing our growing multi-state truckload business focusing on dedicated and southeast regional as well as brokerage services.

Essential experience includes Fleet Management/Leadership, Customer/Driver Relations, Load Planning, and overall truckload fleet Operations.

 Expected responsibilities:

• Manage accounts to retain existing relationships and grow share of the business
• Manage customer needs and balance them with the needs of the company
• Submit recommendations or enforce compliance for current policies and procedures as warranted
• Set schedules, routes and assign drivers/vehicles
• Make sound safety-conscious decisions to ensure compliance
• Provide on-going direction/leadership, through daily coaching and hands-on ‘team leader’ with drivers
• Work closely with fellow employees, customers, and vendors to ensure superior customer service, and achieve company goals

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• 2 + years of experience in Dedicated and/or Regional Truckload Operations. A degree in Business, Logistics, or Transportation would be a plus.
• Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment
