Employee Spotlight – Rodney C.
As the old saying goes, a company is only as good as its employees and such can be true about a trucking companies’ equipment and the shop that helps keep the equipment maintained. STS is blessed to have a crew of some of the best shop employees in the business. We are further blessed to have Rodney C. as Director of Maintenance and Equipment. Rodney has been with STS since October of 2019, and has a heart for coaching & providing a safe work environment for all STS Employees.
Rodney’s desire to become a mechanic started at an early age when he and his friends spent many hours working on their own cars. Rodney started his maintenance career right out of high school as an apprentice, and he quickly began working his way up the ladder to start managing shops in 1994.
Rodney has been married to his beautiful wife, Renee for 30 years and has 2 children, Justin and Erin. He was born Tennessee and like many others at STS, is a die-hard Vols fan. In his spare time, Rodney enjoys cooking and grilling, and even participates in BBQ competitions across the US as time allows.
At the end of most days, you can find Rodney sitting on his deck listening to nature. He doesn’t let much get him down. He says that everything that happens is orchestrated by God and nothing in God’s world is a mistake. He just tries to figure out what his role is and then how to make it better. No wonder his friends and family describe him as someone who is helpful, that really cares and is understanding.
