Welcome Amy to STS!
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Amy to our STS family as the newest member of the Operations team. Amy joined STS on June 1st as Senior Director of Operations. She brings 25 years of experience in the transportation industry.
We recently sat down with Amy to get to know her a little better. Amy was born in Ft. Hood, Texas but spent most of her life in Tacoma, WA. Prior to moving to Middle Tennessee, Amy most recently worked in Sellersburg, Indiana. Amy has three children: Josh, Gavin, and Megan. The boys followed in their mother’s footsteps, and are both in Transportation. Megan will be headed back to the Northwest later this summer to attend college.
Amy loves the Operations side of transportation. It is ever changing and Amy feels that this is the department she can make the most difference. Amy enjoys process improvement, and has a background that includes LEAN training to help with the workflow in the Operations department.
When not thinking about the whys of process improvement, Amy enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with her kids. She is excited about being able to explore some of the many trails in the Middle Tennessee area. Amy also looks forward to just taking walks around the neighborhood at the end of the day.
Here are some fun facts about Amy that we wanted to share. She likes to watch football, especially the Seattle Seahawks. Amy loves music and would love to learn how to play the guitar. She has memorized every word to Bohemian Rhapsody….maybe we should ask her to perform at the next company event! 😊 Amy loves chicken shawarma, hates to do the laundry, and absolutely cannot live without her cell phones.
Amy’s friends say she is dedicated, loyal, and honest. Sounds like a perfect fit for the STS family. The next time you are passing through the STS office, be sure to stop in the Operations department and give Amy a warm STS welcome. We are happy to have you on the STS team, Amy.
