Tractor Trailer Mechanics
Major Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
– Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of (with some assistance) Diesel engines, electrical systems, HVAC systems, steering systems, ad Electronics (ECU, ECM, sensors, etc)
– Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units
– Perform all levels of preventative maintenance services
– Maintain work area appearance and safety
– Use both hand and power tools to include screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
– Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to insure proper operating conditions
– Perform trailer repairs to the floor, side panels, suspension, brakes, tires, and electrical system
Qualifications:
– 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
– Proficiency in the use of shop tools
– Valid drivers license required, CDL is a plus
– Basic computer skills for data entry
– Ability to work in non climate controlled areas
– Submission to a background investigation and drug screen
